  • by

This amazing tea has many health benefits:  detox, anti-cancer and weight loss, heart health and more!

Green Tea stimulates fat oxidation and it boosts the metabolic rate 4% without increasing the heart rate.  This is good for weight loss and detoxification.  Lots of detoxing is just speeding up the metabolism so that chemicals can be processed more quickly by the liver, and the same is true with fats.  You will notice that almost all herbs and protocols for detoxing also are used for weight loss.  Back when I was detoxing like crazy trying to recover from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), I was very lean and had no cellulite!

Green tea’s benefits include fighting bacteria, liver disease, high cholesterol, diabetes, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Green tea has powerful antioxidants, according to the National Cancer Institute.  Catechins in green tea deter free radicals’ DNA damage that can lead to cancer and other illnesses.

Green tea has been used in the East for centuries for aiding digestion.  All help with digestion is help with your bodies ability to eliminate toxins.

Green tea also comes in decaffeinated, but I am not sure what that process is.  Any food processing usually involves chemicals or something else unhealthy.

I drink organic, non-irradiated green tea from a reputable source like Starwest or  Frontier.  I buy it loose as the tea bags are usually bleached and can be made from anything.  Since tea is usually from China and the Certified Organic laws are apparently easy to break, buy a brand with a good reputation.

I am not a huge tea drinker, but have just discovered an easy Green Tea Gelatin recipe which is delicious and extremely healthy!  I also use green tea extract when I can, as you really need the equivalent of a two to three cups a day to get all of the benefits of the polyphenols in green tea.  Yet a cup here and there is beneficial.

Here is a fantastic healthy dessert including green tea and cloves!
