The Brain, Emotions & Energetic Body

When I was sick with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) the best I could do was lie around the house and read about health all day.  I could not go anywhere because the carpet fumes or air fresheners or people’s laundry detergent would make me sick in every possible environment, and I was too tired to do much else.
I learned a lot about getting toxins from the body, protecting myself from new toxins and how heal my organs, metabolism, endocrine system how to efficiently process incoming toxins.

Phase two of my recovery involved understanding how stress and emotions affect the body and how to achieve more well being.

I realized that in my case MCS was caused as much by my brain as by my multiple chemical exposures.  I believe PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and resulting stress was the underlying cause of my MCS. The chemicals that my body was not tolerating were neurotoxic. This is mostly synthetic scents, fumes and smells that go in through the nose and straight to the brain.
In my experimenting with almost anything to get well. by trial and error, I created a brain retraining program. I realized that activating the parasympathetic system (the relaxed state) and not activating the sympathetic system (the stress response) was essential to my complete recovery. The PTSD left me with an overly active ‘fight or flight’ stress response that I was unaware of.  Over time this was degrading my nervous system and making me unable to tolerate the stress of everyday neurotoxins.
With detoxing, psychotherapy and some stress elimination I was 90% better, but 90% better was still pretty bad.   I  wasn’t  dying, but, still too chemically sensitive to feel comfortable where chemicals were present; and that is just about everywhere. My lungs had been damaged and I coughed a lot.
Phase three has been about understanding energy, vibration, attitudes, the nervous system, the body’s electrical system, and the soul. Things that  I used to find dubious like: crystals, acupuncture, meditation, yoga, energy healing, barefoot walking, changing my attitudes etc were just as important.  I have studied and experienced their healing effects.  I now see that ‘subtle energy’ is a powerful force. Phase two of my healing involved eliminating as much stress as possible which led me to yoga, visualization, meditation and barefoot walking in the woods. This somehow opened up something in my ‘spirit’ that completely changed my life.
Life took a mystical turn and I decided to go with it. The past year has been a wild ride and full of healing and wonderful experiences. My nose is no longer 100 to 1,000 times more sensitive than the average person. In fact, it is a sensitive nose, but with normal smelling powers.
Just yesterday I realized that I no longer have the low grade persistent cough I have had since having my lungs damaged  from the MCS.  2 months ago I was the recipient of a ‘ cedar bath’, a Native American type of energy healing.  It was a powerful ceremony and an intense session. The healing of my lungs and the last of the MCS was the purpose of it. I don’t think I have coughed since then.
I have heard of cranial sacral therapy helping lots of people with MCS. I have yet to try it.
It depends on how much money you have, what kind of therapies you can do. There is something for everyone.
There are so many available now. Things like massage, aura healing etc can all help a lot. Just make sure you get someone skilled. There are energy healing meditations you can do on yourself. You can find them on YouTube, in books or make up your own.  There are lots of places that offer prayer for you and your condition.

I think its actually a lot deeper than this and that the brain has a central role in all health and has the power to change genes and recreate body systems.

I was initially motivated toward visualization because I wanted money, abundance, love, health etc, but later realized that I was transforming my whole self from being in that relaxed state. I started yoga in order to learn how to breathe and that changed many more things for me.
I have a great mind/body  program too.http://detoxthebodymcs.com/change-your-body-mind-fast/
