Detox Dessert~ Green Tea Clove Granita
Green tea is renown for it’s detoxification properties. Its famous for detoxing, protecting the liver and speeding up the metabolism. Clove has been honored for thousands of years as anti-microbial (that included yeasts, candida, viruses, parasites etc) and liver protective. Clove & Green tea are also anti-inflamatory and anti-oxidant.
Ginger is anti-inflammatory and filled with qualities, such as, Vitamins C, B2 and B3 as well as rich in amino acids. It also stimulates stimulation detoxification through the pores. It stimulates the intestines, kidneys, liver, and promotes colon and kidney health. Also good for healing the digestion.
Lemon is an incredible alkalizing vitamin C packed detox. Its zesty flavor and tang and brightens up this Granita.
Raw Honey: Used for thousands of years, antiseptic, antioxidant and cleansing properties, filled with vitamins and enzymes.
Green Tea and Clove Granita Recipe
All ingredients are organic when available and RAW honey is crucial, pasteurization removes most of honey’s magical enzymes. I also use this combo in gelatine.
 Ingredients:
2 cups of filtered water
2 heaped tablespoons of loose whole leaf green tea
1 teaspoon of whole cloves
2 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger
1/4 cup of honey
Juice of 1 large organic lemon
Method:
- Bring water to boil, add the ginger and reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add green tea, infuse for 4 minutes. Add the honey, strain into a freezer proof, shallow dish.
- Allow to cool completely, add lemon juice and freeze. Scrape ice crystals that have formed on the bottom or side of the pan with a fork every half an hour. Once the mixture has frozen through, fluff with a fork and allow to dry out in the freezer. The whole freezing process takes about 2 1/2 hours.
