Multiple Chemical Sensitivity MCS is also called Toxic Encephalophy. That is describing a condition of the brain. Getting toxins out of your life and body are essential as by the time you have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, your organs are burdened by toxins and needs to be healed; but the brain, in all of its complexity, is just as important, if not more so.
The physical detox is just one stage of healing from MCS and it is enough treatment for some people who have been over exposed to chemicals. However, many MCS cases are characterized by a sense of smell 100-1,000 times that of other people and also characterized by sensitivity to toxins that cross the blood-brain barrier. MCS is a condition of the brain and nervous system. Many people with MCS have recently suffered a lot of stress, have PTSD and other stress related conditions. To recover is to find healing in the brain and nervous system. My chemical sensitivity, lead also to audio (hearing) sensitivity, and sensitivity to electronics and radio waves (EMF sensitivity).
Emotions change your brain and body chemistry; an overly active “Stress Response” will damage all of the organs, including the brain over time. I am convinced that this was an underlying situation which allowed the chemical injury and toxic burden to create full blown MCS in my case. Furthermore, the “Stress Response” or “Fight or Flight” reaction is actually stimulated by toxins that the body recognizes as a threat. So this chemically activated stress response is ongoing and one affects the other making for the MCS downward spiral. As the sympathetic nervous system is activated, it sets off a whole series of events in the body. A few of the changes in the body are that cortisol, the stress hormone, is released into the body, blood is cut off from the digestion, the heart speeds up etc.
Healing the brain, emotions, activating the Parasympathetic Nervous System and even the body’s energy system has been healing to my brain and every area of my health. It has been a wonderful adventure and a wild ride. I am sincerely glad that I got MCS because it forced me to take care of my body, mind, emotions which completely changed my life for the better and didn’t take that much time.
I got therapy to deal with any possible emotional issues. That was a can of worms, but well worth opening. I got EMDR therapy which changes neural pathways in the brain. My brain was always on stress alert. I was so used to it, I had not idea I was stressed. I got acupuncture which is great for the nervous system, as well as the organs and emotions. I started doing yoga and creative visualization. I put these two together.
There are neural retraining programs which help people with MCS. The reviews are mixed. I didn’t feel drawn to try them. I ended up making my own program without even realizing it. I started doing yoga. I first did “Restorative Yoga”. I picked that because it was the easiest yoga. I was so tired back then , dragging myself 3 blocks to the class was a chore, but, Bernie’s class was so amazing. There was so effort and not even any stretching. We just lay around in different positions. There was no meditation, no counting breaths. It was great. So relaxing. Its where I first heard of the parasympathetic nervous system. That is the rest and digest response which meditation is achieving. The brain and body are in a healing state when the parasympathetic nervous system are activated.
I started teaching cardio dance to a friend on Skype. Then we added a segment of yoga. I added the yoga because I learned that the need to breathe more deeply was important if I was to get well. All of my life I had been breathing shallowly. Then we added a segment of creative visualization. We did the visualization to; get more money, look good, find romance, career boosts and healing. This turned out to be a life changing and wonderful endeavor. I didn’t realize that visualization is a state of meditation. I had not enough motivation to do meditation, but I could be motivated to try to manifest money and things I wanted with my mind. I couldn’t do visualization by just sitting down, so I needed the yoga to relax me into a state where the visualization was easy. This did wonderfully healing to my brain and nervous system.
Once we started doing this routine, things started changing rapidly. It was easy, fun and the results were motivating; the techniques expanded into other areas. My goal for this past year has been to change my thinking completely and live the life that I wanted to live. Its a huge contrast between having MCS and having my world get smaller and smaller, being confined to the house and not having anyone understand or even believe what I was going through.
I couldn’t begin to go into all of the changes, but, all of the life things (money, career, romance, health, body etc) are working out very well and a wonderful ‘spiritual’ life has found me. The spiritual life and the vastly improved sense of well being and health are the real icing on the cake. Having a very strong, good feeling body and control of my mind (for the most part) is just awesome. Now my life is filled with helpful amazing people who understand me. Its incredible and can’t be explained here.
I offer my program via SKYPE. CLICK HERE for more info http://detoxthebodymcs.com/change-your-body-mind-fast/ Its not rocket science, you can adapt it to your life and do it with your friends. Most people need a time and place to do it. Most people will never actually make the time and place to change their life, health, body etc. You can learn my program pretty quick and do it on your own or with a friend, or devise your own way.
I made my program to suit my life, motivation and personality. The most important thing in any exercise or spiritual program is that you like it. It needs to be something you look forward to. That is why I dance and do yoga now; its what I like. I only do about 25 minutes of yoga and that is enough for me. It took me a while to find the style and teachers I like for yoga.
There are lots of ways you can activate the parasympathetic system, learn to breathe, deal with emotions and retrain your thoughts. I love my program, its serious multi-tasking with lots of side benefits which motivate me. I am not motivated to sit there and do EFT tapping or spend tons of money and time on massage and the MULTITUDE of other awesome healing therapies available now.
I am not a doctor. This is not medical advice.
